I can’t lie–my all-time favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe is not my own. I am convinced that I cannot create a better chocolate chip cookie recipe than this one. I’ve tried SO MANY recipes and this is practically perfect in every way. They’re soft, thick, and chewy but not doughy or too soft, and the flavors are spot-on. Also, you can make this recipe eggless by using 1/4 cup applesauce per egg (1/2 cup total). It works great; no one will notice there’s applesauce in it!
Note: they sink and darken slightly when you take them out of the oven, so don’t be afraid if they don’t look quite right at first. Don’t bake them for too long!
